With a background in educational publishing, Emma DeBanks set up ectdesign 16 years ago. This move gave her the freedom to pursue areas of book and graphic design, from non-fiction trade titles, library, reading and religious. She lives on a farm in rural Herefordshire and any spare time is spent in an old pair of walking boots sourcing and photographing fungi.

Emma says she can’t draw – she can! Whatever design demand is thrown at her, she takes sweeping ideas and translates them into a simple and immediately identifiable concept. Her publishing background is key to designing high quality page layouts for our bespoke heritage books. Amongst other skills, she also knows how to create commissioned graphic design cover art for podcasts which we tailor to a client’s brief. Her creative mind and calm demeanour are highly valued.
