After a lifetime of piloting aircraft, Sir John commissioned a reflective short film and some professional photography.
Since going solo as a boy he flew professionally and privately for 60 years. His passion for aviation remains undimmed.
We told his story of owning a vintage aeroplane, the Auster Mark V, and the joy she has brought him and his family and the memories she evokes.
The commissioned photographs were taken by former BBC documentary award-winning camera operator, Martin Patmore.
